It was spring break.
M and Q had found some sort of ice tunnel in Antarctica. L and I went to visit. Then, it changed and we realized we were also meeting A and D and the ice tunnel transformed into an old, huge house. The house was dark and creepy and enormous. We decided to stay the night. Eventually, A and D came back from wherever they were. M was making dinner so I decided to go off and explore on my own. This is where the dream gets really detailed and wild.
I start touring the rooms, one at a time. First, it was simply an old home with lots of musty bedrooms and outdated furniture. Then, my mom and family came to the house and told me they have purchased it or were considering purchasing it. We decided to tour the house again and it became a whole different experience. It became a wonder of a home. Bedrooms expanded and we found secret hallways and hidden rooms with odd purposes, like one huge room tucked between 3 or 4 bedrooms that had a tall glass ceiling and terraced wooden platforms. We decided this was an indoor greenhouse of sorts. We spent a lot of time in this room, dreaming about how we would use it – we would host events? we could start a plant business and prepare all the plants in here? Make it lovely and use it to give gifts to people? I decided I loved this room and wanted to take care of it. Another huge surprise was the “dining room” although we didn’t realize it was a dining room at first. We discovered all of these small, western style saloon “stages” – tiny little rooms with no ceilings but four walls and a floor. From certain angles we could see that there were lots of these little saloons. This is where the dream gets fuzzy and it’s about to end.
It’s me, my mom, dad, and brother. I think we were with some sort of realtor or tour guide who was familiar with the history of the home. We learned that this part of the house (tiny saloons) used to be a restaurant. Folks could do regular seating on the floor which resembled a more typical dining establishment or they could go for the saloon style private dining experience, which is why there were all of the smaller setups. We learned that the room was dedicated to someone important in the family of the previous owner, maybe someone young, and then things started getting fuzzy and I woke up.
